Job Responsibilities
Director of Sales (DOS) directs the day-to-day activities, plans, organises, develops and communicates strategies and goals for the team. He or she is responsible for developing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, and implementing sales strategies for the various geographical/industry sectors under his/her care. The Director of Sales creates and implement hotel-level tactical sales plans; analyse current/potential market and sales trends and coordinate all activities to maintain and increase revenue and market share through added business volume and increased rates.
Primary Responsibilities
- Formulate the direction of the sales team strategy, targets and lead the sales team to achieve the overall targets within budget
- Develops the Sales & Marketing Plan in line with corporate goals and objectives and to drive sales.
- Follow hotel performance and short-term forecasts to find weak periods and identifies customers for those periods
- Responsible for ensuring overall revenue goals are achieved and/or exceeded by maximising room revenue through solicitation of past and new business participation in sales meetings
- Conduct market research on competitors and latest industry news to identify business development opportunities
- Continuously solicit for new business and meet with key clients and assist the sales team with maintaining relationships, negotiations and closing deals
- Participate in the sales, revenue and group review meeting
- Attend tradeshows, travel functions, business functions or as required/directed by the GM
- Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop the sales team
- Provide leadership on the day-to-day operations of the sales team, which maintain focus on the department and company’s strategic goals
- Adhere to all established policies and procedures relating to administration of accounts and ultimate booking of business
- Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
- Accomplish and/or exceed personal and team’s established targeted revenue
- Demonstrate professionalism and outstanding people relation skills with excellent communication and motivation skills

- Supports the Mission, Purpose and Values of the Pan Pacific Hotels Group.
- Complies with all relevant Workplace Safety & Health practices and maintains a safe workplace for all associates.
- Adheres to grooming and hygiene standards set by the Hotel.
- Exercises responsible behaviour at all times to uphold the image and reputation of the Pan Pacific Hotels Group, Hotel and department.
- Ensures that the Hotel’s properties and facilities are protected and are kept in good working condition. Reports any loss or damage to the Hotel’s properties and facilities promptly and appropriately.
- Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
