AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
General Responsibility
- Reports for work on time wearing a clean and tidy uniform and neatly groomed per standards.
- To participate in the daily briefing with the Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Executive Housekeeper.
- To understand and strictly adhere to the rules and regulations established in the Employees Handbook.
- Have a good understanding of the hotel’s emergency procedures, hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation and ensure implementation of those related to housekeeping department.
- Handle equipment, tools, keys and supplies in proper way, kept in good working condition and regularly inspected, following instructions as directed.
- Report maintenance deficiencies and items in need of repair.
Follow up hygiene procedure and report hazard issues if any.
- Carry out lost and found procedures.
- Manage master keys in his/her possession.
- Be environmentally aware.
- Grooming standards including uniform dress code, cleanliness and personal hygiene.
- Attend training and meetings when required.
- Carry out any other reasonable task set by the Hotel's Management.
Follow up linen and uniform handling standard and procedure to complete daily task properly, as well as ensure laundry team maintain the standards.
- Ensure cleaned linen is available for hotel operation as requested.
- Ensure quality controls are in place for all linen processes, rejecting any exceptions
- Maintain cleanliness of the linen room
- Carrying out stock takes as requested
- Ensure par stocks are maintained
- Take receipt of stock and ensure safe storage
- Oversee the issuing of linen via a requisition system
- Sort employee uniforms for appropriate action like washing, dry cleaning, pressing or send for repairing to the hotel's Seamstress & Tailor.
- Once processed, hangs and transports clean uniforms to uniform room.
Follow up guest laundry handling standard and procedure to complete daily task properly
- Responsible to collect in house guest laundry ensure that guest name, room number and laundry pieces are listed.
- Responsible for delivering all guest items punctually, accurately and in a professional and courteous way as required.
- Count and verify all items collected as per laundry price list signed by the guest and note down any discrepancy or damages on the same list.
- Check all items for damage or stains and take appropriate action to rectify these issues.
- Report immediately to the supervisor in case any valuable items like cash, jewelry, credit cards etc. found in guests cloth pockets.
- Responsible to processes the guests clothing on the correct equipment / machines using the appropriate chemicals and temperature.
- Once processed, neatly fold or hang the clothing as requested by the guest on the laundry list.
- Operates and maintains presser and iron.
- Operates and maintains washer, dryer, dry cleaning machine etc.
- Reports any technical problems or deficiencies to laundry supervisor or maintenance team.
- Reports any damage or deficiencies in the laundried items to the laundry supervisor.
- Assist in inventories and attend all departmental training as informed and scheduled by the manager.
